Kwan Yin is a universal deity from the Buddhist tradition, her name means "One who Hears the Cries of the Suffering". She is a Bodhisattva who vows to remain on the earthly realm to help other in their quest for enlightenment. She hears the cries of all beings and answers prayers for help.

The Foo Dog resemble the mythical Chinese guardian lions and hence is also called Lion Dog.
